About Us

Drymere Lodge was established in 1990 with two previous owners and now owned and run since April 2013 by Belinda & Kevin Spruce who were both born in Cheshire.

Prior to purchasing Drymere Lodge, Kevin had completed a 22 year career with the Royal Air Force and Belinda had worked in various professional roles, including working as a college lecturer/trainer, most recently running her own business.

Both Belinda and Kevin now combine their love of animals together with their professional and business experience to run Drymere Lodge Boarding Cattery.

At the moment we have three cats: two are sisters – Pumpkin – ginger and white – and Cosmo – torbie  – who are now eleven years old and we have had them since they were kittens.  We also have a recently adopted another cat in May 2022 named Suki.  Suki can often be seen around the cattery as she likes to meet and greet our customers!  Prior to this, we had Muffin  a beautiful white and ginger girl. We also had a dog called Harry who was great friends with Muffin.

Pumpkin, Cosmo and Suki enjoy living at Drymere Lodge and helping out running the cattery as can be seen in the photographs! Belinda can remember owning her first cat from when she was in her cot – a lovely black cat she named ‘Puss’! Belinda also owned a rescue cat who had encountered a difficult life and called her ‘Dusty’ due to her love of sleeping as high as possible on the top of dusty wardrobes. Kevin has owned many cats in his years growing up including ‘Shandy’, ‘Tish’ and ‘Tosh’ and several dogs. We have both owned lots of animals during our lives so far including several hamsters, rabbits, gerbils and goldfish!

Belinda’s philosophy in running Drymere Lodge is to look after all owners’ cats as she would like her own to be taken care of by paying time and attention to each cat’s individual needs with regard to care and food or anything at all that is important to owners. Belinda takes time to gather as much information from owners on their cats prior to boarding so that their needs can be fully catered for including their favourite foods and any other requirements. Cuddles are dispensed regularly according to the individual cats’ needs, and a great deal of attention is paid to cleanliness and hygiene both before, after and during a cat’s stay at Drymere Lodge.  We always welcome visitors prior to confirming any booking: so please come and see us!
